Why route Fukuoka instead of flying straight to Tokyo?
Open-jaw value: land in Fukuoka via its Asian hub links, run Kyushu, ride the shinkansen north through Hiroshima to Kansai and Tokyo, and fly home from the other end - no backtracking, two extra regions, one itinerary. For Southeast Asian and Indian departures especially, the routing math often beats a Tokyo round trip.
What exactly is a yatai evening and does it suit groups?
Open-air stalls seating eight to ten along the Nakasu and Tenjin waterfronts - ramen, yakitori, oden, and conversation with strangers as the point. Perfect for FIT and couples; for groups we run a rotation across several stalls with a guide, because parking twenty people at one yatai is neither possible nor the experience.
How many nights does Fukuoka itself need?
Two as a base covers the city: a Hakata food walk, Dazaifu's shrine and the national museum as the half-day out, yatai after dark. Its deeper value is positional - most clients use it as the anchor for Kyushu circuits rather than the destination itself.
